Also, those technologies do not damage the language because it only shortens the words. It allows them to answer at the most convenient time for them, not to mention the fact that it gives them time to think about their answers.
Texting is the most used data service in the world. People text for reasons every day! And virtually all messages are read quickly. The advantages of using text messages include the ability to have a discreet conversation in public without the possibility of being overheard. Disadvantages of using this form of electronic communication include a high potential for distraction in situations that require focus.
If you bother someone, they wont make an effort to text you first or text you back. If they do text back, its usually one worded answers. But is this affecting our relationships in a negative way?
Some people think so. I mean, you are in control of the conversation. You choose when to reply to a text, or if you want to reply, at all. You have time to think of what to say so it sounds right and is exactly what you mean. You can determine how long the conversation lasts. You may even be more comfortable talking to people and not having to actually see them.
